SOCIAL BOOKMARKING--THE REDDIT SUBCULTURE

My experience with Reddit had been that Reddit occasionally retweeted my tweets by topic, especially location. If I tweeted with a mention of a particular city, it would sometimes get retweeted.

When I joined the site for class, I found it at once very personable, scrappy, and decidedly quirky above all. They seem to want quirky, creepy, OLD news (at least within the TIL--"Today I Learned" category)! It must be at least 2 months old!

When you TRY to post within their strict guidelines and get it wrong, rather unfriendly automatic directives pop up to scold you. Although I love this funny one that is always at the top of the TIL "Today I Learned" category:

I was hoping to continue using this site for reals, but if it keeps rejecting my posts and telling me my links are broken when they're not? Nope. Maybe I need to try Digg or De.lic.ious.

P.S. Just looked it up online and Reddit was founded within jogging distance of my childhood home. That explains the snark!
